Every year on October 21, the planet celebrates World Listening Day, an opportunity to promote the act of listening as a tool for personal and social development. Active listening plays an essential role in relational dynamics. When you lend an ear to someone, you show understanding and interest in them, building a foundation of trust and opening the door to deeper and more meaningful communication. A skilled listener not only perceives the words, but also tunes into the speaker's tone, gestures, and posture, honing the ability to grasp the details essential to understanding the other person's message.

World Hearing Day was inaugurated in 2007 by the International Federation of Hearing (IFHOH). This international organization is dedicated to representing the interests of people with hearing difficulties around the world. The first celebration of World Hearing Day took place in 2008 in Brazil and was later embraced by numerous nations around the globe.

If you need to talk, to vent, to make new friends, to spend a different day, ESN Perugia supports you and listens to you. For example, if you feel that you need a helping hand, we can recommend Psychological Counseling, which is a free counseling service made available to all students enrolled at the University of Perugia, dedicated to providing a place for listening and support to deal with personal, relational, emotional issues, difficulties in academics such as exams, anxiety, and uncertainties about one's abilities related to university studies that may arise during the course of the academic journey.

Meeting can also be conducted in English and Spanish.
