In 2019 ESN Perugia’s volunteers started working on an ambitious project: having our Erasmus students parade during the historical re-enactment of "Perugia 1416. Passaggio tra Medioevo e Rinascimento" (Transition between Middle Ages and Reinassance).
Perugia 1416 is one of the most evocative and exciting events of Perugia, which takes place in June and lasts three days. However, it is only possible to parade and participate in the event’s games if you are a city resident. Nevertheless, the 5 quarters that take part at the event, the Perugia 1416 Association and the city administration let a number of Erasmus student and ESN volunteers participate, once they saw our great excitement and the will of feeling part of the city community, sharing traditions and values.
It was a great integration and sharing opportunity which allowed Erasmus student to feel essential part of Perugia’s community.
Saturday, 25th of July, after almost a year, ESN Italy gave to ESN Perugia the first prize in the context of Erasmus for Culture 2019 for the Perugia 1416 project, a great recognition for what we hope will become a custom for us and our Erasmus students.
