Since 2016, Italian universities and universities around the world have celebrated the International University Sports Day, with the aim of recognising sport within the academic context.
The role of college sport is crucial in the lives of students, going far beyond mere physical activity. In addition to contributing to the improvement of physical and mental health, the university sports environment promotes socialization, increases the sense of belonging and facilitates the development of transversal skills. Students who engage in sports practice acquire important skills, such as leadership, time management, team collaboration, and the ability to face challenges with resilience. These skills play a vital role in their personal and professional growth.
