The International Day of Happiness is celebrated on 20 March each year to remind humanity of the importance of pursuing its own well-being.

It was established by the UN General Assembly in 2013 to promote not only the prosperity and contentment of individuals but also to remind states of the importance of ensuring a more inclusive approach to their citizens that promotes sustainable development and poverty eradication. It is, therefore, of great importance to emphasise how this need for human beings is not neglected. Emblematic in this regard is the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America in 1776, which states that the pursuit of happiness is an inalienable human right.

But what is happiness? There is no exact answer because each of us follows our own coordinates, according to our inclinations, passions, needs and emotions. We invite everyone, not only today but every day to remind ourselves how fundamental it is to aim for our own fulfilment without forgetting to guarantee it for others.

But what can we do concretely? There are many ways, we suggest a few: take care of our mental health because it helps us to live better with ourselves and with others, do good for others, try new experiences and always devote a little space in our daily lives to our passions so as to make even the most tiring days more pleasant.

We wish everyone a day full of happy moments.
